Is the sky the limit in terms of
the prospects that DFS offers?

"Every time I’ve changed jobs, a new opportunity opened up for me."

Juliane Lang Head of Corporate Processes & Organisation

The career so far

"I joined DFS in a lateral move, although as a full-time member of staff right from the start.

I grew up in Freiburg and attended a Franco-German business studies programme in Tübingen and Strasbourg after completing my school-leaving exams. I then worked in strategy consulting at various companies before accepting a position from a client in Hamburg in real estate.
I then returned to Frankfurt to work for Thomas Cook. That opened the door to aviation and I was able to put my skills to the test at Condor. From there, I moved to Droniq, a DFS subsidiary. I worked in their drone division for three years before ultimately making the move to the parent company."

The motivation

"At DFS, you’ll encounter the widest range of topics and duties all in one place.

When I started work for DFS, I definitely didn't feel like I was starting from scratch. After all, my work at Droniq meant that I was already familiar with the company, knew a few people and could therefore simply concentrate on devoting myself to new, exciting and challenging tasks. The company's size alone offers me so many opportunities to keep learning new things and develop personally."

The activities

"My work is a colourful bouquet of topics.

Among other things, my duties include implementing the company's strategy and further developing the organisation at DFS. I specialise in process management and bear joint responsibility for the introduction of business process management. I support operational managers, deliver concepts and content for methodological development and try to anchor these in the processes. I liaise closely with executives and the Executive Board, from developing content to implementation and drafting the reports at the end."

"My job always leaves me enough scope to enjoy my free time with my children, spending time outdoors in nature, doing sport or being with friends."

The challenges

"Taking so many colleagues with us on the journey into the future is a big job.

A company as large as DFS employs an incredible number of people, who are all, of course, individuals. What's more, some have been on board for a long time, while others are still in the relatively early stages of their careers. It’s important to find the right approach to ensure that everyone is involved equally. This not only makes the work varied, but also very exciting for me."

The corporate culture

"The willingness of employees to offer help has impressed me since day one."

A company as large as this employs many people that are responsible for many important jobs, but there’s one thing I’ve experienced across all departments equally: the amazing camaraderie among colleagues, the openness and the willingness to help. Mutual support is always present. Of course, this makes it easy to build networks within the company, which I personally consider extremely important."
