Career websites and brochures are, of course, great for getting a good first impression of your new employer. Nevertheless, it is even better when people meet face to face. Nothing beats direct personal contact. That is why we offer you live online events, regularly attend career fairs throughout Germany and look forward to seeing you at our on-site events.

What do our air traffic controllers in one of Europe's largest radar control centres do? What systems are available to help them? What skills do applicants need to have? What other traineeships/apprenticeships and dual courses of studies does DFS offer?
On Saturday, 17 May 2025, we will once again give you a look behind the scenes and answer all your questions about air navigation services. Enjoy a varied programme directly at our Campus in Langen.

At the online taster day, you can find out all the basics about training to become an air traffic controller and about DFS as an employer (duration: approx. 2 hours).
The taster day is aimed at anyone who has not yet applied, or has only recently applied, and would like to find out more about the job of our air traffic controllers.
The air traffic controller talk (Lotsentalk) is aimed specifically at those who are already in the application process and have already passed the online test. You can talk directly to our air traffic controllers in the online controller talk (duration approx. 2 hours).
Please note: Please take part in a taster day before attending a controller talk.
How can I best support my child during the career orientation phase? When is the ideal time to apply and how does the application process work? Could training as an air traffic controller or doing a dual course of studies at DFS suit my child? What are the opportunities and what are the challenges of each training programme?
Find out the answers to these questions and much more at the online parents' evening.
The meeting starts at 18:00 hrs and ends at around 19:30 hrs.

This event is aimed exclusively at parents. For interested pupils and students we offer the online taster day
Find out all about the dual course of studies programme in air navigation services engineering and the dual course of studies in computer science.
The taster session is aimed at anyone who has not yet applied, or has only recently applied, and would like to find out more about the degree programmes and the respective careers in engineering and computer science (duration approx. 1.5 hours).
This branch visit is aimed at all applicants who have already received an invitation to the main examination in Hamburg. It takes place at our various control centre and tower locations throughout Germany (duration approx. 1.5 hours).
Rookie Day at Leipzig Halle Airport is your opportunity to look over the shoulders of active air traffic controllers in the control tower (duration approx. 45 minutes).
The event is aimed at all young people aged 15-24 in central and eastern Germany who are considering applying for a training position as an air traffic controller.
Please note: Topics such as applications, selection processes and the training are not discussed. Accordingly, prior knowledge is required. A visit to our stand at a career fair, such as vocatium, or participation in an online taster day is a prerequisite.
Please do not register more than once if you do not receive a confirmation immediately. In exceptional cases, it may take up to 3 weeks for participation to be confirmed by e-mail.
Career fairs
We are on tour throughout Germany with our exhibition stand for young talented people. In the table, you can see when we are in your neighbourhood. It is not necessary to register in advance. Just come to our stand and talk to us. We're looking forward to meeting you in person!

The air traffic controller training programme starts several times a year. This means you can apply to us at any time. Ideally, you should apply 1 year before you want to start with the training. In most cases, if you are available earlier, you can start earlier..
